Lecturer

It’s as if I blinked and suddenly I’m the same age Frank Thomas was when he began teaching and equipping me in the field of animation. Time really is an interesting thing! Much like teaching, lecturing has given me the opportunity to pass on what I’ve learned to the next generation. Whether it’s drawing in the traditional way with pencil and paper, or leveraging the latest digital animation applications, it’s all immensely important. I feel a responsibility to share both what I’ve learned and how my experiences have shaped me as an animator. I’ve had the privilege of lecturing at some reputable universities – such as Auburn University and Southern Adventist University, to name a few – and this space has given me the chance to do deep-dives into advanced animation techniques.

In addition to guest speaking and lecturing at schools across the nation, I also enjoy attending animation cons and festivals. This has given me the opportunity to really delve into my experiences working on The Secret of NIMH, All Dogs Go to Heaven, or Atlantis. This is a passionate, rabid fan base that really proves 2D animation isn’t going anywhere.
